Frequently Asked Questions
GST (Goods and Services Tax) is India's unified indirect tax system that replaced multiple taxes. It has four main slabs: 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%.
For intra-state transactions: CGST goes to Central Government + SGST goes to State Government (each 50% of total GST). For inter-state transactions: IGST is collected by Central Government.
Use the "Remove GST" mode. Enter the GST-inclusive price and select the slab. Formula: Original Price = Total ÷ (1 + GST%/100). For example: ₹1180 with 18% GST → Original = ₹1000.
5% applies to essential items, 12% to standard goods, 18% to most goods/services (IT, telecom, financial services), and 28% to luxury items. Check the official GST schedule for your specific product.
